Highcroft is an elegant country house built in the early 1900s
its grounds being initially planted and landscaped by the famous horticulturalist
Gertrude Jekyll. It is situated in a quiet setting although only being
a short walk to Burley
through beautiful woodland. There is direct access to forest paths and
tracks from either the rear or the front of the property where one can
walk for miles in a wonderland of trees, wildlife and open countryside. |

| Burley is a picturesque village in the New
Forest located about 15 miles from both Bournemouth and Southampton,
within easy reach of the beach, Beaulieu and all of the Forest Towns. It
is famous for its associations with witchcraft and smuggling in days gone
by and boasts 3
pubs, a post office and village stores. There is also the opportunity
to hire bicycles, ride
horses, or for the less energetic, a wagon
ride drawn by one or two of the local horses. There are also many shops
with their own themes, where many people gather on fine afternoons. |
