is a picturesque village in the New
Forest located about 15 miles from both Bournemouth and Southampton,
within easy reach of the beach, Beaulieu and all of the Forest Towns. It
is famous for its associations with witchcraft and smuggling in days gone
by and boasts 3
pubs, a restaurant, a bistro, a post office and village stores. There is also the opportunity
to hire bicycles, ride
horses, or for the less energetic, a wagon
ride drawn by one or two of the local horses. During the summer months there is a hop on/hop off open-top bus tour of the New Forest which passes through Burley. There are also many shops
with their own themes, where many people gather on fine afternoons.
If you need a taxi, the closest are in Ringwood, Brockenhurst and New Milton.
